“Forgotten Fallen” Wins Bronze!

The New York-based Telly Awards is one of the top awards in the film and video industry, honouring the best works from around the world. This year, Lamplight Productions and Valour Canada are honoured to receive Bronze in the categories of “TV – History/Biography” and “TV – Documentary” for our first feature-length documentary, commemorating the unknown fallen of the First World War. It focuses on four individuals who gave the ultimate sacrifice, each representing the valiant contributions from every segment of the Canadian population, but whose bodies were never found:

Thomas Riley, a Lewis gunner from Calgary, Alberta, lost during the Passchendaele assault
Talbot Papineau, a Major from Montreal, Quebec, also lost during Passchendaele
Margaret Marjory Fraser, a nursing sister Matron from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, lost at sea when the hospital ship H.M.H.S. Llandovery Castle was sunk by a U-Boat
John Shiwak, a sniper from the Inuit community of Rigolet, Labrador, lost during the Newfoundland Regiment’s advance at Cambrai
